OPI Goldeneye

OPI Goldeneye is from the Skyfall Collection, and I wasn't suckered in by it's golden goodness until I saw Lucy's swatches of it. Seriously can anyone resist anything that girl swatches? So I ended picking it up from a blog sale for about half price brand new, which is always just the push you need when pulling the trigger for a lemming!

I wouldn't call this polish a foil, it's much closer to a super dense flakey polish. The base is clear polish that is packed full of tiny gold flake pieces that reach opacity at three coats. I think this polish is sheer enough on the first coat that it could be layered over a dark color for a "midas touch" type manicure with just a thin layer of gold flakes. The flakes are too small to compare to the 18k top coats that are popular right now, but it would be similar but denser in the effect. I used OPI Nail Envy for my base coat, three coats of Goldeneye, and one coat of Poshe top coat.

My pictures definitely don't do it justice, this polish is crazy full of metallic shine! I'm talking the gold version of the ever popular silver minx manicure from a distance amount of shine. Sometimes I feel like when I wear a nail polish this loud and pizazzy that it has more personality than me on some days! But that's okay, because it works as a talking point with people when I'm feeling less than social; which is most days, let's be honest. This is definitely one of those polishes that I would recommend for an event or even for something like prom.

What polish in your stash has the most personality? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for reading!
