First Impression: I'm a sucker for anything pink, so the packaging appeals to me right off the bat. The cream comes in a small, matte, round plastic container that is easy to hold and feels fairly substantial. A graphic of a grapefruit and the company's logo is on a coordinating colored sticker placed on the lid. The pink grapefruit fragrance is light, zesty, and refreshing. The texture of this product is a lot thinner and wetter than I expected from something labeled as a body butter. As it warms up on your hands the texture becomes thin and lotion-like but absorbs quickly.
Absorption Rate: The cream took approximately one minute to rub into my hands, and felt completely absorbed within two minutes.
I wasn't fond of the texture at first, and I still think it's closer to a lotion than a body butter, but it helped the product to absorb quickly and not leave a greasy feeling. The more I reached for this lotion the more I loved the scent and wanted to keep using it at any chance I got! Not because the lotion itself was spectacular, but because it just smelled so good. Right after using this product your hands feel a little sticky but it's nothing unbearable or obnoxious. I actually felt like my cuticles were softer and smoother after applying, and my hands were still smooth minutes later. I especially enjoyed how well the scent mixed with my Lemony Flutter; It helped tone down the under layers of the cuticle cream fragrance and brought out the fresh lemon. This particular fragrance is formulated for "Normal Skin" but there are creams described as "rich and intensive" for dry skin that The Body Shop also offers. For the first week that I was using this I didn't think that I really was in love with it, but the during the second week I really realized that I loved this product! I really recommend that if you're curious about this cream go and pick up the mini $6 tub rather than the full size one. They were even 2/$10 when I purchased mine.
Purchase or Pass?: If you love light and citrusy scents, I say purchase this one! The small version is only $6 and it's the perfect side to have on your nightstand or throw in your purse. It won't be the most amazing lotion you've ever purchased but it will definitely be an energizing pick-me-up to your moisturizing routine and you'll probably enjoy using it!
